Welcome to Eagle Furniture.
Sam Howard Greenwood started Eagle Furniture in Sparta in 1968 manufacturing livingroom furniture. As business grew, land was purchased at their current location in Cookeville in 1971. The 2nd generation of Greenwoods, Sam Douglas Greenwood, joined the business in 1971 after graduating from Tennessee Tech University with an Engineering Degree. Eagle manufactured sofas, loveseats, chairs, sectionals and sleepers until their business sustained a fire in 2008 that completely destroyed the manufacturing facility.
At the peak of business in the 1980's, Eagle employed 75 + employees and shipped furniture in many states up the east coast, west to Texas and south to Florida. In 1993, the Greenwoods opened a showroom on the property selling their products to the public. After the fire in 2008, Eagle outsourced manufacturers to fill their showroom, many being products made in Tennessee. The showroom is thriving today offering 15,000 sq feet of wall to wall furniture featuring livingroom, bedroom, dining room, home accents, home entertainment and mattresses. Eagle hears everyday "you have the best prices in town and so much to choose from."
Eagle is honored to have served the Upper Cumberland for 50 years, now under the reign of 3rd generation of Greenwoods, Sam Gregory Greenwood. He welcomes everyone to shop local and promises you will be amazed with the quality and selection Eagle has to offer.
